From John Barata

God lives in all of us and he can certainly be seen in this group of pilgrims from Holy Cross. I have the great pleasure of leading this journey with the incredible support of Greg and Jim.

Our "Group" is full of amazing people with the Holy Spirit. From the first minute we left the parking lot for Virginia at 4:30 AM we have experienced God's love and care. We navigated across 10 states safely and with no complaining. We enjoyed the BEAUTY of the Creator in every hillside, mountain top, lake, valley, river and smile we have seen.

Our first stop in Roanoke, Va  was unforgettable. The hospitality we experienced from Dave our host was amazing. He helped make our time at St. Andrew's enjoyable and very special. We shared in a lovely prayer service and enjoyed a dynamic celebration of the Eucharist.

At this moment we have completed our first night at the Appalachia Service Project's National Center. We had a great prayer service and enjoyed a lot of free time. ALL teams received their assignments for tomorrow and made preparations for our first day out on the field.

As of right now this has been an AMAZING experience and it will only get better. I thank God for the gift of these wonderful teens and leaders.

Thank you to all our benefactors and supporters. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

We love you, God loves you, Pass it on!
